About Me

When I was just a kid, I developed an interest in reading–alot. I’ve read classics, pop fiction, science fiction, Ayn Rand, religious works, and tons of non-fiction. In addition to writing, I spent a lot of my youth on stage in high school, community theatre and college productions. I performed in shows ranging from Shakespeare’s Richard III to a starring turn as John Jacob Astor III in Scotland Road.

While not writing books, I teach English, writing, and lmiterature at Louisiana Delta Community College. I hold an MFA in Creative Writing from Lindenwood University. Also, I continue to work as a freelance features writer for a number of magazines. I’ve interviewed celebrities, politicians and regular people, from former president Bill Clinton to Hinder frontman Austin Winkler.  Before embarking on a writing career in 2001, I was an account executive, web developer, technical support rep, and content developer. I’ve also worked as a hardware technician and network engineer.

I have been married (now divorced), have three kids, and a big, supportive extended family. (Think the Walkers on Brothers and Sisters.) Hobbies include outdoors activities like camping, hiking and biking, reading, boating and, if you look at my phone bill, talking on the phone. Mundane life, I know.

But then again, no one ever said writers were exciting.
